We will come to your home or meet with you online for the tutorial sessions. If you prefer a different location, such as a library, coffee shop or school, we can accommodate that as well.
We offer expert online tutorials in all states and most countries.
Yes! We are experts in online tutoring, and we use a variety of tools, including our built-in online whiteboard and video chat, to provide students with the most seamless and robust online learning experience.
We can help with virtually every elementary, junior high, and high school subject. We also cover a wide range of college level subjects. Please see the Tutoring page for details.
We can help with the SAT, the ACT, most AP tests, and high school entrance exams (ISEE, HSPT, and SSAT). We also work with students preparing for GRE, LSAT and GMAT graduate school tests. Please see the Test Prep page for details.
Rates for tutors range from $150 per hour to $300 per hour, depending on tutor experience level.
All of our tutors are highly knowledgeable and experienced educators who have the right skills and personality to motivate and engage students. We require all tutors to have at least 5 years of teaching or tutoring experience in their subjects of expertise, but most have quite a bit more.
For more about our tutors, please see the Our Team page of our website.
Of course, the tutor we recommend must be an experienced educator in the subject or subjects in which the student needs help, and he or she must have the flexibility to work around the student’s schedule.
Beyond that, we also consider which tutor will best “click” with the student based on the student’s learning style, interests and motivations. Although it doesn’t often happen, if our tutor and the student aren’t a good match, we will recommend a different tutor immediately.
We tutor students from across the country and across the globe, but most of our students go to the best private and public schools in and around Los Angeles. The majority of our students attend Harvard-Westlake School, Brentwood School, Marlborough School for Girls, Sierra Canyon School, Marymount High School, Windward School, Loyola High School, Vistamar School, Archer School for Girls, Milken Community School, Palisades Charter High School, and Beverly Hills High School.
A more robust list of clients’ schools includes AGBU, Arcadia High School, Archer School for Girls, Army Navy Academy, Aspen High School, Atlanta Country Day School, Beverly Hills High School, Bishop Montgomery, Brentwood School, Burbank High School, Calabasas High School, Campbell Hall School, Cate School, Cathedral High School, Chadwick School, Chaminade High School, Chatsworth High School, Concord High School, Crespi Carmelita High School, Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences, Culver City High School, Da Vinci Schools, de Toledo High School, Deerfield Academy, El Camino High School, El Segundo High School, Flintridge Preparatory School, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, GALA (Girls Academic Leadership Academy), Geffen Academy at UCLA, Harvard-Westlake School, Hamilton High School, Home School: Potter School, Home School: K12, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Immaculate Heart High School and Middle School, La Canada High School, Laguna Blanca School, Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Louisville High School, Loyola High School, Lycee Francais de Los Angeles, Malibu High School, Marlborough School for Girls, Marymount High School, Milken Community Schools, Mira Costa High School, Montgomery Bell Academy, New Roads, Notre Dame Academy, Notre Dame High School, Oaks Christian School, Oakwood School, Palisades Charter High School, Palm Valley School, Polytechnic School, Providence High School, Santa Monica High School, Sierra Canyon School, South Pasadena High School, St. Francis High School, St. John Bosco High School, St. Monica, St. Paul School, Stanford Online High School, Venice High School, Vermont Academy, View Park Preparatory Accelerated Charter School, Viewpoint School, Village Christian School, Vistamar School, West High School, Wildwood School, Windward School, YULA (Yeshiva University High School LA)
We feel that one-on-one tutoring is a more effective and more efficient approach to SAT tutoring because it allows us to focus only on the techniques that will help the individual student maximize his or her test scores. No time is wasted on questions and issues that the student has already mastered. We do occasionally offer SAT and ACT Boot Camps for clients with similar needs on a case by case basis.
No. We don’t make you sign any kind of long term contract. While we strongly recommend regular weekly session as a best practice, you may stop tutoring at any time. We do have a 24 hour cancellation policy for scheduled sessions.
Yes, we book a minimum of 1 hour sessions. However, if you have regular weekly sessions booked, students can reach out to their tutors for a “Booster Shot” tutorial any time in increments of 15 minutes.

All Achieve tutors share the same approach: clear teaching, strong relationships, and lasting progress.
Master Tutors are exceptional subject specialists with at least five years of teaching experience. They are outstanding at explaining concepts clearly, diagnosing what a student is missing, and rebuilding skills in a way that actually sticks. Just as important, they take the time to understand how a student learns, so sessions feel supportive and productive rather than stressful.
A good fit for families who want high-level, steady help in one subject and real progress that carries forward.
Elite Tutors are ideal when a student’s needs don’t fit neatly into one subject. They’re selected for breadth, versatility, and the ability to quickly see what’s driving a student’s struggles beneath the surface, whether it shows up in math, writing, organization, or confidence. Instead of treating each class like a separate problem, Elite Tutors help students build a connected set of skills and routines that improves performance across the week, not just in one hour.
This level is especially valuable for students who need consistency and momentum. Elite Tutors tend to be strong long-term partners for families: they communicate clearly, adjust the plan as school demands change, and help students develop habits that make the workload feel more manageable over time.
A good fit for multi-subject support, ongoing weekly coaching, and students with layered goals.
Founder’s Circle Tutors are rare, high-demand professional educators with unusually deep expertise across multiple areas, often backed by advanced degrees and extensive high-level teaching experience. This level is for families who want the most seasoned, nuanced instruction, especially when the stakes are higher or the material is more advanced. Founder’s Circle Tutors are excellent at simplifying complex ideas without dumbing them down, and at helping students develop the kind of thinking and confidence that shows up in demanding classes and challenging tests.
They’re also a strong fit when a student’s situation isn’t straightforward (multiple subjects, uneven foundations, high pressure, or a goal that requires both precision and judgment). Families choose Founder’s Circle when they want a tutor who can quickly understand the full picture, prioritize what matters most, and guide the student through the work with calm, expert clarity.
A good fit for high-stakes goals, advanced students, or situations where you want the most experienced level of teaching and insight.
The Founder level is reserved for Pete Edwards, who built Achieve Tutorials and personally vets and trains the team. Pete works directly with students who need the highest level of expertise and judgment, or with families who want a clear, thoughtful plan for what to do next. His approach is relationship-driven and student-specific: he focuses on understanding what’s really getting in the way, turning confusion into clarity, and bringing out a student’s best in a way that feels motivating, not pressuring.
Families often choose this level when they want founder-level guidance from the start, when the situation is especially complex, or when the stakes are unusually high. Pete can work directly with a student, or help a family think through goals, timelines, course choices, test strategy, and the kind of support that will be most effective. The common thread is that the student ends up with a smarter path forward and a calmer, more confident experience getting there.
A good fit for the toughest cases, the highest stakes, or families who want founder-level guidance and direction from day one.
Every level is relationship-first: we teach, we adapt, and we stay with you as goals evolve.
